so my first question is : what exactly is "pictorial space", and "space" as an art element? to me it includes how the artist uses the total picture plane to place elements, not only creating illusionary depth. am i wrong? i used this term "pictorial space"on a test question. just making sure i didn't use it wrongly. is there "space" in an abstract Mondriaan?

let's try this again
i was actually going to sign up again and this popped up so ...i need this blog to use slide share! since my last one and only post, i have been teaching (giving it my best shot) art history. maybe i will get elucidation from comments as i come across many questions as to how to understand present concepts. there are many great art history blogs out there, maybe i can add something. i am not a great typist so for now i am going to dispense with caps, otherwise i will never do this, but i will try to spell correctly.
